The Planmeca Viso G5 CBCT system brings next-generation 3D imaging to our oral and maxillofacial surgery practice, giving Dr. Barney exceptional anatomical detail for diagnosis and surgical planning. Using cone beam CT technology, the Viso G5 captures sharp, high-resolution digital images at a fraction of the radiation of conventional medical CT scanning. Integrated cameras provide a live view of the patient directly from the control panel, allowing us to position and fine-tune the exact scanning area in real time before any exposure is taken.

Patient safety is central to how we image. Planmeca’s proprietary Ultra Low Dose protocol — validated in multiple independent scientific studies — allows us to acquire a full 3D scan at an effective radiation dose comparable to, and in some cases lower than, a standard 2D panoramic X-ray, all without a measurable reduction in diagnostic image quality. That means Dr. Barney gets the detailed three-dimensional information needed for precise treatment planning while keeping your exposure as low as reasonably achievable. The intelligent CALM motion-correction algorithm adds a further layer of protection, ensuring clear images even if slight patient movement occurs and minimizing the need for retakes.

The Viso G5 works seamlessly with Planmeca’s Romexis software platform, allowing Dr. Barney to review your anatomy in three dimensions, plan implant placement and surgical procedures with precision, and walk you through the details of your case chairside. Images can also be shared quickly and securely with your referring doctor, so your entire dental team can collaborate on your care and deliver the best possible treatment outcome.
